Winds of Change in the Academy
"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19)
Speaker: Dr. Mary Poplin, Professor of Education, Claremont Graduate University
Scholars are discussing the limitations of secularism in the academy. Several secular scholars question the absence of religious voices in this discussion. Are we prepared to move through this open door? Or have we fallen into secularism's trap which posits that "faith" has no place in the public square?
Every worldview begins with foundational principles that are taken on faith. Naturalism, secular humanism, and pantheism all emerge from faith principles. Moreover, these worldviews reveal the battle by the powers and principalities to dominate the mindset of the university. What will be our strategy?
Session I: The Shape of the Challenge: The Faiths of Three Dominant Worldviews Session II: Transforming our Minds in the Context of our Fields
